Flash player shows flash symbol, not game
Support for flash ended in January 2021 and Windows is stopping flash function on users' computers.
Date Change: A quick way to get running is to change the date on your computer to a time before the end of flash. .
Step 2: close all the programs that may execute flash: BioExplorer, BioEra, internet browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc)
Step 3: uninstall flash by followins these instructions:
a) Download and execute this program: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8sr5tzkzuqfn8vj/uninstall_flash_player.exe?dl=0
b) Check if this folder exists: c:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash. If so, delete this folder (you will need to grant administrator permission)
c) Check if this folder exists: c:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. If so, delete this folder (you will need to grant administrator permission)
Step 4: reboot the computer
Step 5: install an older version of flash
a) Download and execute this program: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xblbrutdm09v3uu/flashplayer32_0r0_344_winax.exe?dl=0
At the end of the installation, there will be a message asking how you want the program to do the updates. Select the last option: "never check for updates"
a1) If you could install it correctly, go to step 6.
If you couldn't install it, do this:
- Right-click the program's icon
- Click on Properties
- Open the Compatibility tab
- Check the option "Execute this program in compatibility mode"
- On the dropdown menu, select Windows 7
- Click OK
- Now you will be able to install the program
Step 6: run BioExplorer / BioEra and check if flash is working. If so, the process is finished. If not, close the program and go to step 7.
a) Open the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
b) In this folder, there will be a file whose name starts with Flash, followed by some numbers (they vary from one computer to another) and .ocx extension
c) Right-click on this file's icon and click on Rename
d) Change the file name to Flash.ocx
Step 8: run BioExplorer / BioEra and check if flash is working. If so, the process is finished. If not, close the program and go to step 9.
a) Go back to the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
b) Right-click on the Flash.ocs file (the same file you renamed) and click on Properties
c) Open the Security tab
d) Click on "Edit" to edit permissions
e) on the upper menu, select Users
f) On the bottom menu, check "Total control" in the "Allow" colum
g) Click OK
h) Click OK
